Exclusive: Ed Sheeran Has Wild, Knicker and Bra-Throwing Fans
Filed under: Cambio News
One big part of being a successful singer is dealing with the outrageous fans…(ahem, just ask Demi Lovato.)
Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran knows that after writing songs for bands like One Direction, touring with groups like Snow Patrol and doing his own music thing, guitar-digging chicks and crazy followers are sure to spring up. Luckily for Ed, his fans aren’t too wild.
“I don’t really have crazy fans. The fan base is large, very loyal and they’re hardcore. But I don’t get crazy experiences. The fans that I found to be the most wild are the One Direction fans…,” he joked.
We might have to agree with him on that one...
And being a total stud and musician can’t help but give you perks in the dating department, right?
“I don’t get asked out on dates. I get asked to marry them, probably a bit more life-long isn’t it? It’s not just a cup of tea is it? It’s not just a cup of tea but many cups of tea…”
It is easy to see why he gets the marriage proposals, he totally kept us laughing!
Even more funny is the story he told us about his grandma’s crazy experience at one of his shows. She couldn’t help but be concerned when things kept getting thrown at her…
“She wanted to know, ‘What are people chucking at me?’ and apparently it was just knickers and bras.”
LOL! Poor Grandma!
Click here to find out if Ed would ever join 1D or if he really did go to rehab.
Annnnnd did Ed really say that he’s convinced Conan O’Brien is his dad? Haha, too funny!

How Can You Get a Big Time Rush Personally Designed Guitar?
Logan and Kendall from Big Time Rush can now add designers to their resumes…
The boys told us (when they weren’t geeking out over Wiz) at Wango Tango that they’re involved in a really cool project with the guitar manufacturer Fender for the Fender Music Foundation.
“Fender Foundation reached out to us and we’re designing two guitars. He’s designing an electric one and I’m designing an acoustic…,” Kendall added.
For every guitar sold, one will be donated to a school that doesn’t have enough funding for their music program.
What will the instruments look like? Expect inspirational quotes, hearts and peace signs…
How awesome is that?

The Cool Kids in Cannes: A ‘Lawless’ Afterparty With Megan Ellison and Friends
It’s 10 p.m. along the Croisette at the afterparty for “Lawless,” and a new side of Cannes is revealing itself.
It’s not the star-studded Armani-Chopard-Haiti benefit on Friday night, where $100,000 at auction bought you three days in Haiti with Sean Penn.
And it’s not the exclusive A-list gathering at the Hotel du Cap down the coast, where Graydon Carter of Vanity Fair is having his annual affair.
It’s a different kind of party and a different kind of exclusive, where a new blend of filmmakers, stars and high net worth producers is gathering to celebrate the premiere of John Hillcoat’s “Lawless.”
Who’s here? The people up to their elbows in making the movies that you’re likely to care about. Most are barely over 30. Everybody's smoking, and very good looking.
Also read: 10 Producers Who Will Change Hollywood in 2012
The elusive Megan Ellison of Annapurna, 26 and dressed in a black tuxedo suit, glows with the thrill of premiering her first movie in Cannes.
Michael Benaroya (pictured) of Benaroya Pictures, 31 and another producer on “Lawless,” is almost giddy with excitement. Why shouldn't he be?
Both are the wealthy children of magnates north of Hollywood (Ellison from northern California, the daughter of Oracle’s Larry Ellison; Benaroya from Seattle where his family is in real estate), but they are both using their personal fortunes to make movies of substance and taste.

The stars of the movie, Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain and Shia LaBeouf linger comfortably in a room not crowded by Cannes standards. Dane DeHaan, who has a small but key part in the Prohibition-era drama, will also be in Benaroya’s next movie, “Kill Your Darlings.”
It’s a growing clique of dot-com Hollywood arrivistes, who’ve made the right connections and are putting their money where it counts. There are a few others, former dot-commer Robert Barnum, and the industry elder by comparison, Cassian Elwes.
Tom Hardy squeezes by and chats briefly about playing Forrest Bondurant; at first he was offered the middle brother role of Howard, since Ryan Gosling was slated to play Forrest. But Gosllng fell out and Hardy eventually got the role he wanted in a performance that is winning high praise. Hardy said he has lost 30 pounds since filming the movie.

Besides “Lawless,” Ellison is an executive producer on “Killing Them Softly,” a thriller with Brad Pitt playing an enforcer who investigates a hit at a mob poker game. It screens later in the festival.
And she rescued the latest Paul Thomas Anderson movie that had no financing until she came along. “I couldn’t believe it was not getting made,” Ellison said, noting that “Magnolia” was one of the most impactful movies of her adolescence. It’s called “The Master,” and early word is that it is a landmark work about a Scientology-like cult leader. The Weinstein Company will release it later this year.
Ellison allowed that, yes, she has been media-shy, but says she's been busy making movies. (She's got at least a dozen in development.)
Benaroya, who co-produced “Margin Call” last year, is fully financing “Kill Your Darlings,” a $4 million thriller with Daniel Radcliffe and Michael C. Hall about young beat poets Allen Ginsburg and Jack Kerouac and a murder.
Also read: Michael Benaroya: Film Financier to Watch
And he’s also financing the $11 million “Hate Mail,” with Scarlett Johansson, Robert Pattinson and Philip Seymour Hall. And he executive produced “The Paperboy,” also screening in competition in Cannes.
That's a lot of money to be throwing down. Benaroya, apart from noting that he's only lost money on one movie he's made thus far, said he likes to gamble.
“I’m a serious poker player," he said. "People like to underestimate me: ‘You look 25. You look like a nice guy. I’m gonna take you for everything you’ve got.’ They’re often surprised when they don’t.”
Johnny Knoxville’s Train Ride With Rocko
Johnny Knoxville and his wife Naomi took their 2-year-old son Rocko to the Los Angeles farmers market last Sunday (May 13). The toddler enjoyed a little train ride during their shopping trip.
Their 7-month-old daughter Arlo wasn’t with them.
This Is Something That Was Actually Worn In Public

Kim Kardashian’s IMDB Profile Is Very, Very Accurate
And now I'm sad.

Kim Kardashian is emblematic of the shallowness of American culture in the first two decades of the new millennium. While some cultural critics call her the prime avatar of the “famous for being famous” faux celebrity crowd, she along with Paris Hilton is a new breed of cat whose celebrity comes from the release of a sex tape and the canny exploitation of the resulting publicity. Like her good friend Miss Hilton (their relationship predates Kim's “celebrity”, Kardashian is possessed of photogenic good looks but is short of any other discernible talents outside of the bedroom. Both expanded their celebrity by becoming reality TV “stars”.
John C. Hopwood, who wrote the bio, then goes on to say:
Porn pioneer Harry Reems has commented how surprised he is at how porn stars like Jenna Jameson are accepted now in mainstream culture. His life was ruined by his participation in porn in its “Golden Years”. As for Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, the release (accidental or not-so-accidental) of boudoir tapes didn't result in shame but celebration. America like ancient Rome seems to have shuffled off the moral coil of virtue of the Republic and is now enjoying its Imperial self in an orgy of ignominy. It's always more fun on the toboggan ride down the hill than it was schlepping up it in the first place.

CW Redeveloping ‘Hunger Games’-Like ‘Selection’; ‘Deadman’ Not Dead
The CW is redeveloping "The Selection," a "Hunger Games"-like series that it passed on for the 2012-13 season — and the network continues to develop a series about the D.C. comics hero Deadman, network president Mark Pedowitz said Thursday.
Pedowitz spoke to reporters after the network unveiled its 2012-13 lineup to advertisers, including another drama based on a D.C. comics hero, the gritty "Arrow." He said he planned to meet with the producers of "The Selection," based on the book by Kiera Cass, to discuss it. He said it was too soon to say whether the show will be recast. "Friday Night Lights" star Aimee Teegarden had been cast in the lead.

Like "The Hunger Games," is about a young girl in a futuristic, war-torn nation who is chosen by lottery to compete for fame and fortune against a backdrop of hunger and carnage. Unlike the "Hunger Games"' Katniss Everdeen, the girl at the center of "The Selection" is competing for the affections of a prince, not killing other teenagers.
"Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke, who also created NBC's upcoming "Revolution," is developing the Deadman series.

Reality TV Hits the Cannes Red Carpet
Reality TV is getting the Cannes treatment at the world’s premiere film festival. Italian director Matteo Garrone (pictured above right with actor Nando Paone) brought Reality to the fest’s competition, following up his critically acclaimed gangster pic Gomorrah several years ago. The film centers on a village fisherman who sacrifices everything for the perceived chance to become a reality-television celebrity.
After being persuaded to apply for the Italian version of Big Brother, Luciano gets a follow up interview in Rome. He is initially reluctant to pursue the role, but after an interview he thinks went well, Luciano begins to believe he’s in the running for the series. After returning to Naples, he begins to believe he’s still “being cast” as he goes about his daily life. Soon, he lives as if he’s already on the show. A chance meeting with people from Rome turns into an “incognito casting session,” and soon it gets worse as he loses sense of actual reality.
“After Gomorrah, I was waiting for a theme that would be as powerful,” Garrone said in Cannes on Friday morning. “I wanted a surprising film, but after Gomorrah, I didn’t realize I’d be hitting a brick wall.”
The film is chock full of thematic takeaways, including the religious metaphor that through good works, one can achieve paradise: In the film, Luciano begins to give up his worldly possessions, believing the people secretly watching him will be charmed by his selflessness — much to the horror of his family. Reality could also be an indictment of the meteoric rise of reality television itself over the past decade, though Garrone said the film takes a neutral stance — at least officially.
“We shot the film without trying to be critical in any way,” he said. “The main character…

Phillip Phillips vs. Jessica Sanchez: Who Will Win?
We’re down to two on American Idol. The final two. Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez.
One is a young white male who is easy on the eyes and plays the guitar. In other words: the same exact pedigree as the last four winners.
The other has a beautiful voice and hasn’t been afraid all year long of tacking such major artists as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. She’s responsible for the single most memorable American Idol performance of the season.
Either would be a worthy champion. Only one will wear the crown next Thursday night.

Sean Penn Rips “The Whole F–king World” For Abandoning Haiti
Sean Penn isn’t a fan of us right now. Or you, or anyone else.
On Friday at the Cannes Film Festival, the actor-activist slammed the media and public for abandoning Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010.
“It’s not only celebrities who went for a day,” Penn told reporters of his perceived injustice. “It’s the whole f–king world. It’s all of you. The reason we have ‘Haiti fatigue’ is because there was never a commitment in the first place.”
A vocal proponent of humanitarian aid, Penn also called upon President Barack Obama to meet with Haiti’s newly elected president Michel Joseph Martelly.
“It’s time our elegant, formidable president stood side by side [with Martelly],” he said.
The outspoken actor was part of a news conference with Petra Nemcova and director Paul Haggis, all of whom work with nonprofit organizations in Haiti.
The trio joined forces for a benefit for the country at the famed cinema gathering.

‘Breakout Kings’ Canceled After 2 Seasons
"Breakout Kings" has been given the ax by A&E.
The series, from former "Prison Break" team Nick Santora and Matt Olmstead, has been canceled after two seasons, the second of which wrapped up April 29.
The series revolved around a group of U.S. marshals who enlist prisoners to help them catch escaped convicts, with time taken off of their sentences for each fugitive captured.
Malcolm Goodwin, who played former gang leader Shea Daniels on the series, acknowledged the cancellation on his Twitter account Thursday, writing, "So Breakout Kings is canceled. Thx to all 4 the luv & support over the last 2 seasons! It's been a fun experience! Much luv! On to the next."
Speaking of "the next," Olmstead seems to have that ground covered; he's moving on become showrunner of Dick Wolf's new drama "Chicago Fire," which was recently ordered to series by NBC.

Philip Roth’s ‘American Pastoral’ Being Made into Movie
Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize winning novel "American Pastoral" will be made into a movie from director Fisher Stevens.
The book is one of Roth's most critically heralded and offers a look at the social upheavals of the 1960s and 70s as seen through the eyes of a once legendary high school athlete, Seymour “Swede” Levov.
"American Pastoral" helped kick off a career renaissance for the author and is the first novel in Roth’s American postwar trilogy — a grouping that also includes "I Married a Communist" and "The Human Stain."
Film versions of Roth's novels have been hit and miss over the years. "Elegy" (2008), adapted from his "The Dying Animal," was acclaimed, and "Goodbye, Columbus" (1969) helped make Ali MacGraw a star.
However, "The Human Stain," (2003) with Anthony Hopkins improbably playing a man of mixed race, and "Portnoy's Complaint" (1972), which kept Roth's title but not his humor, are generally considered duds.
"American Pastoral" is being backed by Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE). Stevens will direct a screenplay by John Romano ("The Lincoln Lawyer").
Stevens is currently directing "Stand Up Guys," starring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin for SKE and Lakeshore Entertainment. He won an Oscar for producing the 2010 dolphin hunting documentary, "The Cove."

Disney to Stage ‘Brave’ Premiere at Grand Opening of Dolby Theatre
Disney and Pixar will stage the world premiere of “Brave” at the grand opening of the newly renamed Dolby Theatre, the studio announced Friday.
The premiere is part of the Los Angeles Film Festival, which kicks off June 14.
“Brave,” which hits theaters June 22, is Pixar’s first film since last year’s “Cars 2.”
Set in the Scottish Highlands, it features Pixar's first female protagonist, which L.A. Film Festival director Stephanie Allain said made it an ideal part of the program.
“It fits perfectly with our celebration of Women in Animation programming we’ll be holding during the Festival,” she said in a statement.
“Brave” features the voices of Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Craig Ferguson, Julie Walters and others. Macdonald voices the main character, Merida.
The Dolby had been named the Kodak Theatre since 2000. However, earlier this year Kodak extricated itself from that sponsorship due to its ongoing bankruptcy.
Dolby is revamping the 3,400-seat theater, which hosts the Academy Awards, enabling it for 3D and implementing its Atmos sound technology.
Susan Sarandon Joins ‘Still of Night’ Opposite Michelle Monaghan
Susan Sarandon is in final negotiations to join "Still of Night," Exclusive Media said Friday.
The Oscar-winning actress would join Michelle Monaghan ("Mission: Impossible III") in the thriller with Jonathan Mostow ("Breakdown") on board to direct.
"Still of Night" follows a young woman (Monaghan) in a desperate search to find her missing sister. After finding herself entangled in a conspiracy, she must outwit a devious criminal (Susan Sarandon) to save herself.

Sarandon has kept busy in recent years, etching memorable supporting roles in films such as Peter Jackson's murder fantasy "The Lovely Bones," "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" and the upcoming financial drama "Arbitrage."
Exclusive Media will finance and produce the film along with writer/director Jonathan Mostow and Steve Alexander ("Season of the Witch")
The project is scheduled to start shooting in August 2012.

Sean Penn Explodes in Cannes: ‘The Whole F—ing World Abandoned Haiti’
Sean Penn accused the media of abandoning Haiti on Friday during a news conference for a benefit for the impoverished country.
"It's not only celebrities who went for a day," he said to a room full of journalists at the Cannes film festival, when asked about his long-term commitment to the country. "It's the whole fucking world. It's all of you."
He added, "The reason we have Haiti fatigue is because there was never a commitment in the first place."
The activist-actor, who spends much of his time in Haiti, said the country finally had a chance to reestablish itself after decades of turmoil. He said that because of the commitment among young people there, "You see the very tangible success story that Haiti can be."

Haiti recently elected a new president, Michel Joseph Martelly, and Penn called on President Obama to meet with him. "It's time our elegant and formidable president stood side by side" with the new president in Haiti, he said.
Penn was at a news conference with Czech supermodel Petra Nemcova and film director Paul Haggis, each of whom have non-profit organizations working in Haiti. They are joining forces with the Cannes Film Festival at a benefit for Haiti on Friday night.
For his part, Haggis hailed Penn as an "honest to God hero" for using his celebrity to address suffering in Haiti.
The Cannes Festival announced just last week that they would officially support a fundraiser for Haiti during the festival, an unusual event since it is not related to any film.
The Carnival in Cannes will be a star-studded event, with Ben Stiller, Gerard Butler, David Schwimmer, Hayley Atwell, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jason Clarke expected to attend.
Festival director Thierry Fremaux offered to support Sean Penn’s Haitian Relief Organization, Paul Haggis’ Artists for Peace and Justice and Petra Nemcova’s Happy Heart’s Fund.
An incongruously glamourous set of sponsors include designer Giorgio Armani and the jewelry house Chopard.

Justin Bieber GQ Magazine: “You Can’t Trust Anyone in This Business”
It’s a different side of Justin Bieber in the new issue of GQ, where he talks about being cautious in the business and… gulp… underage drinking?
Justin’s big takeaway is that you “can’t trust anybody” when you’re famous.
It seems he learned that lesson and now is more guarded, explaining, “I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can’t trust anyone in this business.”
He adds, “That’s what’s sad. You can’t trust anybody. I learned the hard way.”
Ouch. But at least he learned early on!
As for that bit about drinking, he says, “I like to be in control of myself,” and that he’s “had a beer, like, before… but I never get out of control.”

Todd Field Lines Up Financing for ‘The Creed of Violence’
Todd Field has found a financier for his long-gestating follow up to "Little Children."
Cross Creek Pictures will produce and finance "The Creed of Violence, which Field will write and direct.
Field has had a prolonged hiatus with his name frequently attached to several projects, but he had not slid behind the camera since "Little Children," his darkly comic look at suburban malaise, premiered in 2006.
Also read: Fresh Out of the Gate, Cross Creek Makes 'Black Swan' Splash
This will be only the third feature directed by Field, who made a name for himself with 2001's "In the Bedroom," his dirge-like examination of a family ripped apart by a murder.
"The Creed of Violence" is based on a novel by cult writer Boston Teran and takes place in during the Mexican Revolution of 1910.
It focuses on a small-time assassin and a Bureau of Investigation agent and their attempts to infiltrate the Mexican criminal underground.
At one point, Leonardo DiCaprio was said to be circling the project, but Cross Creek did not tip its hand about casting on the film.
Cross Creek's Brian Oliver will produce along with Field and Michael DeLuca ("Moneyball"). The production is targeting an early 2013 start date to shoot in both the American Southwest and parts of Mexico. The movie will be distributed by Universal Pictures through their deal with Cross Creek.
“The book and Todd’s adaptation remind me of Conrad’s 'Heart of Darkness,'” Oliver said in a statement. “Teran’s novel brings a unique perspective to U.S. imperialism for oil in the early 20th century. We are confident that Todd’s skill for deeply felt, emotionally resonant characters combined with this action-packed story will make for an epic, influential film.”
It has been a busy week for Cross Creek, which also announced that has signed a three-year deal with Exclusive Media to finance, develop and produce at least two films a year.
First out of the gate will be "A Walk Among the Tombstones,” a thriller starring Liam Neeson as an unlicensed private detective hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer.
